Most companies have been sold the same story: install the platform, follow the playbook, watch the dashboards. We've seen what happens after the demo ends. The real wins come from systems engineered around the way a specific business runs, with AI embedded where it actually moves the numbers.
Our job is to design that system end-to-end. We diagnose the operation, choose the right pieces, build them, and stay on as the team that runs them. The output is rarely a single app—it's usually a small constellation of web, mobile, desktop, and data tools that quietly do the work that used to require staffing.

We deploy software the way an operator would: instrumented, monitored, and tuned. When something breaks at 2am, the team that built it is the team that fixes it.

Most of our work is multi-quarter. After launch we stay involved—measuring outcomes, retraining models, and extending the system as the business grows.
Joe Brennan
Founder & Principal Engineer
Joe founded Lumina Software in 2023 to do AI and software work the way he wished agencies would: diagnose the actual business, then engineer the system that fits it. He leads strategy and architecture across every Lumina engagement and writes a meaningful share of the code himself.
His background is in the AI automation space. He works as an automation expert—designing the agents, integrations, and custom systems that quietly replace manual operations work inside the businesses Lumina partners with. Shipped products include Shop AI, an AI-powered visual product search app on the App Store, Project 365, an AI-driven goal-progression app, and a number of private engagements—from a business acquisition tool built on the Google Maps Places API to internal data tools that replaced manual workflows for client teams.
He is studying Computer Engineering at Florida Polytechnic University in Lakeland, Florida. Day to day, his primary language is TypeScript—powering React Native and Expo on mobile, modern web stacks on the product surface, and Node services underneath—with Python alongside for the automation and data layers. The bias throughout is toward shipping software that holds up under real use.
